Something Different With Paint Party Friday

Ok so Friday is usually my Creative Expressions blog post day but this Friday I wanted to do something a little different. I thought I would join in with the folks over at Paint Party Friday and show one of my painty makes.

I love playing with acrylic paints it is one of my favourite things and I find it really calming getting messy with paint, but I don’t always show you guys my painty makes. One of the things I wanted to do with my blog this year was to show some of my more experimental arty stuff in amongst my papercraft stuff.

You know me, I am a bit of a fidget bum and I like doing all sorts of arty / crafty things and I can’t nail myself down to just one thing.

So here is a piece I’ve called ‘Pit’ and it is acrylic paint and collage on paper.

It is a dark and textured piece.

I’ll let you bring your own interpretation to it!

But it is actually an old piece, I did it around about October/ November 2010.

It was the lovely Annette from Netty’s Craftings that first introduced me to the Paint Party Friday blog – Thanks Annette

Have a thoroughly painty Friday!

Catch you back here tomorrow for my Creative Expressions make.

Hi Kim its fab to see you at the Party……welcome. Loving all the great texture. It reads to me like someone lost in a very dark place. Hope they made it to the otherside.
Look forward to seeing more of your Arty Makes and following your adventures into the arts. Happy PPF and enjoy the weekend, Annette x

Very interesting piece. I'd love to see how this evolved step by step. It seems to have started out as something completely different from what it became. I always find that fascinating.

Gorgeous and powerful..deeply mesmerizing..almost makes me think of tree bark and how it feels to run my hand across the texture of nature..beautiful!

I'm a bit of a strange crafter (no surprises there LOL) – I can't stand getting inky or painty but love trying 'messy' stuff…go figure.

The title made me laugh after I saw the piece. I love all the texture and the little peek-though of the red/pink and the white. What are all the pieces you applied? Did they stick with the paint alone?
